Student Docent Program
Young people ages 10 to 17 have a unique way of looking at and talking about art. In this exciting program, students will work with their peers and learn to give gallery tours that are unique, meaningful and fun. After completing the training, students are invited to regularly participate in museum events, family days, and evening programs as they further develop their teaching skills and stay involved with the museum.
- Explore the museum with the curators, exhibitions personnel and education staff
- Discover the world of artists and works of art that are at the core of the museum
- Go behind the scenes with exhibitions staff
- Meet exhibiting artists
- Receive training in giving tours and being a museum gallery teacher
- Give a tour
- Create materials and activities for museum tours, lessons, and Discovery Boxes in
the Family Education Center

For students ages 14 - 18, the Student Docent program can be coupled with the Counselor in Training program for an incredible summer learning experience!
