October 30, 2004 through January 30, 2005 Bucks County printmaker Selma Bortner has been exhibiting her colorful and evocative prints for more than thirty years. She studied at the Tyler School of Art and the Philadelphia College of Art, and taught at the Department of Fine Arts at Bucks County Community College from 1968 to 1991. Using stories and recurring symbols, Bortner's work explores her personal experience with breast cancer, as well as the problems of appearance and self-image faced by women in modern culture. This retrospective exhibition contained examples of her prints from the early 1960s to 2004.
