March 18 through July 9, 2006
Pfundt Gallery, Doylestown

Sponsored by Mary Lou and Andrew Abruzzese, The Pineville Tavern.

Philadelphia photographer Andrea Baldeck's fascination with photography and travel began with a childhood Brownie camera and a stack of National Geographics, and has taken her to the tops of mountains, small islands, ancient cities, and the rivers of Southeast Asia. Also a musician and a physician, she often squeezes a flute and a stethoscope into the same bag as the camera on her expeditions.

Baldeck has published numerous books of her work in the last ten years, including Talismanic (1998) and Venice: A Personal View (1999).

She worked as a physician at the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer in Haiti in the early 1980s, then returned in 1996 as a photographer to record the daily life of the community.
