Objects of Desire: Treasures from Private Collections was an exhibition of prime works selected from private collections in the region. Sponsored by Freeman's 200, America's Oldest Auction House, the show provided a unique opportunity to view more than 50 paintings, works of art on paper, sculpture, and hand-crafted furnishings that are rarely on public display.

Among the works included were paintings by Edward W. Redfield, William L. Lathrop, Daniel Garber, Walter Elmer Schofield, M. Elizabeth Price, Clarence Holbrook Carter, Lee Gatch, B.J.O. Nordfeldt, Charles F. Ramsey, Paul Keene, Pat Martin, Vincent Ceglia and Alan Goldstein; photographs by Emmet Gowin and Michael Smith; and furniture by Morgan Colt, George Nakashima and Paul Evans. The show offered a glimpse into the world of fine art collecting, as well as some of the artistic gems that reside in private collections throughout the region.

Bucks County is a fertile environment for collectors. The exhibition included examples of both fine and decorative art created in the Bucks County region over the last century, and preserved by individual collectors.
