Philadelphia sculptor Arleen Race Wolf began her career as a printmaker, studying at both the Philadelphia College of Art and the Barnes Foundation. She then developed an interest in welded sculpture using found materials, often based loosely on the human figure and other recognizable forms. "I love to cut and burn and shape the metal," she says. "Its almost like a flower opening up, or like putting together a giant puzzle." Wolf's work has been shown in more than 50 solo and group exhibitions since 1966, and she has won awards at the Berman Museum and the Woodmere Art Museum.
