The Michener Art Museum offers a variety of classes for K-12 educators throughout the year. These classes are available for Act 48/continuing professional education credit. Graduate Course Offerings in Partnership with The University of the Arts!
The Museum is pleased to announce a partnership with The University of the Arts to offer enrichment courses for adults and professional development for educators in Doylestown and New Hope. The Professional Institute for Educators offers a full program of non-matriculated credit courses for teachers interested in continuing their education, or in satisfying Pennsylvania Act 48 requirements. UArts is an approved provider for Pennsylvania Act 48. Please contact the Education Department for upcoming courses offered at the Doylestown and New Hope locations at 215-340-9800 x111 or refer to the Events and Programs area of the website. In-Service Workshops
Teachers are invited to participate in annual workshops held in collaboration with Bucks County Intermediate #22. These workshops introduce and demonstrate how to integrate the visual arts with their curriculum to enhance the classroom experience. Workshops are suitable for all age levels, and teachers from all subject areas are encouraged to attend. These workshops are available for Continuing Profession Education credit under Act 48. Visualizing Words and Worlds
Writing Literature and Art: A special opportunity for teachers to discover and explore the connections between the visual arts, writing and literature is available this summer, thanks to the third year partnership between the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project at West Chester University and the Michener Art Museum. Open to teachers K-12 and across the curriculum, this program includes writing in response to and inspired by art of all kinds; using the visual arts to respond to reading of all kinds; and hands-on art workshops conducted by contemporary artists. (No previous experience or talent required to apply!) It is held at the Michener Art Museum every summer and is open to teachers from anywhere in the PAWLP service area. Please contact the PAWLP office for current year's program dates. The program carries three graduate credits from WCU. All registrations will be handled by the PA Writing and Literature Project office, 610.436.2202.

Educator's Open House
School superintendents, principles, and teachers are invited to attend this annual open house held every October in collaboration with the Mercer Museum. The open house gives educators the opportunity to view the museum's galleries to explore the collections, in addition to viewing resource materials available to schools. Please contact education department for date/time of this year's open house.
